FARR PUTS ON HIS BEST EFFORTS AS RECORDS FALL!

Date: 19/3/06 | Host Club: Bathurst Light Car Club

The second day of BLCC’s Bathurst double on 19th March, proved to be just as entertaining as the first.

Good weather conditions undoubtedly contributed to the number of new records set during the day.Peter Gumley (SCV) and Neil Farr (Bowin Hay) traded places all day. Peter’s last run looked good enough to seal victory with the first sub 43 second run of the day.Someone forgot to tell Neil Farr however, as he immediately countered with a final run of 42.77s to win by six hundredths of a second. That’s 1.5s under his old record.Sensational!

Tim Edmondson (Force PC) retired early with front wing problems but was able to claim third outright (47.0s -.a new record) ahead of Adam Barnes in the Gemini S/S at 47.64. Steve Hooker (Jedi) was next with a time of 48.01s (Also a new record) from Wayne Burden’s Gemini (48.74s) and Glenn Pro at 48.86s in the solid gold Escort. Merrick Malouf’s immaculate Black Porsche GT3 took a whopping 15s off the MarqueSports record to finish eighth outright (49.43s).

It’s a steep climb when you only have 750cc’s but that didn’t stop Phil Pratt’s Trojan from finishing in ninth (49.74s a new record) from Kevin Lord’s Fubar (50.38s) in tenth outright.

A host of additional records fell , including Glenn Parsonage (PRB), Donn Vidler (Mini S/S),Arthur Hollins (Cortina S/S), Ron Hay (Hist R), Peter McLeod (Porsche Replica),Heath Campbell (VW Beetle),Greg Omerod (RX3) and Martin McLoughlin (Imp Prod Torana).

A Great Weekend.
