GUMLEY GRABS GOLD AT GRAFTON!

Date: 11/6/06 | Host Club: Grafton Sporting Car Club

Peter Gumley (Wortmeyer SCV) made the trip north worthwhile by grabbing fastest time of the day (44.48s), just outside the course record of 43.02s. He did not have it all his own way however, as Neil Farr (Bowin Hay P6) was able to finish a close second on 44.81s.

Third outright and best in the Formula Libre 1301-2000cc class was Stan Pobjoy’s VW Special on 47.31s.  Next was Dave Morrow in the Krygger Suzuki on 47.72s claiming the F/L 751-1300cc class in the process.

Garry Ford (Escort) is making a habit of being the s best of the Sports Sedans and made fifth outright on 49.35s.  Allan Hindes in the Piranha Suzuki 49.45s finished sixth outright.

Grafton stalwart Ken Norton (GRD, 49.84s) finished seventh outright ahead of the flying Mini of Mark Broadhead (50.23s), quickest of the small Sports Sedans. Craig Torrens (VW) did well again this year, lowering his Imp Prod 1601-2000cc class to 51.60s, good enough for ninth outright.

Peter Gillard in the MR2 out paced his dad Ron to take out tenth outright and best of the closed sports cars with a final time of 51.88s. Congratulations to the hard working GSCC team for another well run event.
